Sleep Aid Night Light Series Frequently Asked Questions
WHY RED OR AMBER LIGHTS AT NIGHT?
Does your child have trouble falling asleep or staying asleep? Take a look around the bedroom, are you using LED's in your ceiling, lamps or night lights? Are they White or Blue? Whether it is on your TV, smartphone, or LED bulbs in your ceiling, the majority of LED's use phosphors to shift blue light to the white spectrum. This is because blue LED's have been developed by the industry to have the highest lumen per watt efficiency. Just look at the intensity of blue light in a typical "white" LED!
These short wavelength blue light sources are proven by countless studies to inhibit the sleep hormone melatonin. Sleep experts recommend to limit blue light exposure before sleep. We also like to think it is also easy for kids to learn, red means "STOP"
DOES THE LIGHT SOURCE CONTAIN ANY BLUE LIGHT?
Our night lights contain absolutely no blue light and only use long wavelength LED's. Don't be fooled by the other "RED" lights on the market with a red cover on the light. These do not filter out all blue light
HOW BRIGHT ARE THESE NIGHT LIGHTS?
Our night lights use multiple high output LED's unlike many others on the market which only use one single bright LED. This allows us to produce a softer and more uniform light profile that provides more visibility in the entire room without blinding you at night.
HOW DOES THE AUTO FEATURE WORK?
The auto feature or "dusk to dawn" function automatically senses the presence of light. If it is sufficiently bright in the room, the night light will turn off. Once it is dark, then the night light will automatically activate. In the motion sensor versions, the night light will only activate when it senses movement in a low light condition.
HOW MUCH POWER DOES THE NIGHT LIGHT CONSUME?
The night light is extremely energy efficient and costs than less than 10 cents per month to operate. Save even more with the motion sensor and portable versions.
DO THE PLUG-IN NIGHT LIGHTS BLOCK THE USAGE OF THE SECOND PLUG ON A WALL OUTLET?
No they do not.
